A Summary of Home School Laws By State

June 27, 2011

Home School laws vary greatly from state to state. Some states (in green above) do not even require notification before a parent begins to homeschool their child. Other states (in red above) are highly regulated and make schooling your childing at home very difficult. The other states (yellow and orange above) fall in the middle with low to moderate regulation.

It is important to follow the home schooling laws in your state to the letter. Do not cut corners and do not play fast and loose with the law. Homeschooling your child is a fun and rewarding experience, but you do not want to end up on the wrong side of the legal system.
